So much you've missed....

Oh my goodness! Where do I start? I haven't posted in such a long time. Since my last baby shower, I had another shower on March 19, 2011. We had an outstanding turnout and my best friend Toni Benson hosted the shower. What a success, just as the first one my sister and mom hosted for me! It went great. The games were awesome and Charley was blessed with so many gifts. Daddy bought mommy the cutest dress ever for the shower and couldn't wait to feel stylish again.

So hmmmm, what else? I gained a total of 35 pounds while pregnant with Charley Olivia and her due date is April 23, 2011. Guess what? We have a baby! She's here.

WELCOME CHARLEY OLIVIA HICKS
ARRIVED ON MARCH 29, 2011
11:57 P.M.

I am so in love with our baby girl. I was in labor from 6:30 a.m. to 11:57 p.m. when she arrived. She was delivered vaginally. She is completely beautiful. Daddy took pics and video taped while I was pushing and Toni Benson (best friend) helped along side to keep me focus and push away to get this little bean out of me. I pushed with all my might and I couldn't wait to see my baby girl. During the pushing process, I had heartburn out of this world. Ugh! My visitors that entertained before Charley arrived were Yasmeen, Telia, Sara, Toni, Parker, and Robyn. I had the best nurses ever and my midwife was the awesome. I couldn't have chose a better option of someone to help me deliver my child. Barbara Snuggs was amazing and she was so patient and kind-hearted throughout the entire pregnancy...I love her because she helped deliver our baby girl.

The next day approached and we were greeted by flowers from daddy. Mommy also had visitors the next day because grandma and grandpa and cousin Janessa came to visit. Yasmeen who was there from the beginning also came to visit the next day and had lots of gifts for baby Charley. Soya came and brought lots of gifts too and her first Easter bunny. So cute. Robin and Dana also came to say Hello to Charley.

The first night she slept so well. The next day was awesome as well. We then went home and she did such a great job. I was so proud that my baby girl was a great sleeper. So happy to have her home. However, the next day we had to go to the pediatrician. She had her first little check-up and it went well. She was assigned to go to the hospital and get lab work done on her jaundice. Daddy and mommy went to get the jaundice lab work and found out that Charley had to be admitted. I cried my heart out. I didn't want Charley to go through all of this...she was being stuck every second with needles. Tore my heart apart. We are now at Scottish Rite where she is sleeping under a bili-lite and blanket. She gets her foot pricked every 12 hours. I hate to see my baby girl so upset. Toni, Cody and Andrew came to visit. I love my bestie. She came and changed Charley, fed her and held her for a bit while keeping me company and taking pics. We actually had a great time in the hospital. So we are sitting here waiting for her results to be where the doctor would like them so we can go home really soon. Mommy is super tired and I have a ton of school work to do. Exhausted and overwhelmed. I wish there was an easier way but I love every moment I spend with my baby girl. She is my heart, my soul, my everything and that will never change. I love her more than life itself. She is absolutely gorgeous with a head full of hair. She is my miracle baby and will always be loved so much. Grandma and Grandpa are the happiest ever. They want a picture every day. Auntie Lanka is so excited to see you next week as well. She took a special vacation time off of work so she can be with us.
Mommy and daddy love you so much Charley.

Baby Shower Feb 19, 2011

My sister and mother hosted a baby shower for Charley and I in Augusta, GA on Feb. 19, 2011. My mom had everything catered and the food was delicious. My sister hosted and did all the games and brought such a fun atmosphere to all the friends that were there...we had an amazing time. Everyone but two people showed up and I had the most amazing time. It was a time to not worry, be emotional, but just be happy and live for the moment for my little girl and I.

Charley will be amazed of how many people really love her. She had so many gifts and blessings at the shower, it completely amazed me.

Charley received so many clothes, shoes, toiletries, pack and play, bath spa, wipe warmers, stuffed animals, gift cards, activity sets, diapers, diaper genie, and wipes. There was so much more but those are the few I can remember.

Below are the pics posted below of the shower:

Sunday...Valentine's Day Weekend

It's Valentine's Day weekend and I've been sitting in the house not doing much of anything. Why?? because there is nothing to do besides school work. I have to get all this work done asap because it drives me crazy now...I don't have the patience to do it anymore because I just want to be done. I did go to dinner with a friend and it was great getting out of the house. 3 more classes and I am finished with my MBA. So glad.
Anyways....

Mommy feels you growing week Charley. You are kicking and moving like never before. It amazes me how you fit in there and just moving all around. I see your little kicks and movements through my shirts, I LOVE IT.

I got some great maternity shirts the other day and it felt great knowing that no one else has to tell you that your clothes are too small because that really did hurt my feelings. They are adorable. Also, Robyn got me two great maternity shirts as gifts which was great too.

My appointments are now every two weeks and I can't wait to hear your heartbeat next week. Also, the baby shower is next weekend. Yay. I cannot wait to see my family and friends. Being here makes me miserable.

I can't wait to be surrounded by positive energy and then head back home and do school work all over again. hahaha.

Anyways, HAPPY VALENTINE'S WEEKEND SWEETIE. MOMMY LOVES YOU.

When you realize....

Just when you realize you couldn't do it on your own, you've proven yourself wrong. I am not sure if it's just the hormones but right now I just want to be left alone, and just do things on my own. You have to figure you went this long without needing help then what changes? Nothing. Going to school and almost finished. I cannot wait. I also cannot wait until my Charley Olivia gets here so I can be the best mommy ever to her. Then off to work I go. I cannot wait to start work again but I am terrified of putting my little one in the hands of others. Ugh. The bassinet is up and I will begin to wash her clothes, well some because we don't know how big she will be and I could take some things back. I already packed my bag and all ready to have her even though I have two months to go. I am so anxious. She is kicking away and it excites me. I will be getting a 4D Ultrasound and I can't wait to see what my little bean looks like, hopefully she looks just like mommy but from the last hospital u/s she looked a little like her daddy. I cannot wait to hold my baby. But as I stated, I've come to realize that people will walk in and out of your life. When you go through a life changing experience, you realize the people that are really meant to be there and those that aren't meant to be there.
My baby girl makes me happy. Knowing she is coming soon will make me even happier.

So much happened in the month of Jan...

I went to the hospital twice, put on steroids, bed rest, catheder, percocet, contractions, and the list goes on.
Charley was ready to come out. Doc gave me steroids to stop the contractions. I am also on pelvic rest...you know what that means. I must drink water, water, water.
Today I had my glucose test, I failed. Now I must go back on Tuesday and take the 3-hour test. Blah....Doc also put me on a diet. :0( He said I gained 7lbs within 1.5 weeks...I stated " Doc, I was on steroids." He then said, "Oh, I forgot. But still we need to put you on a diet." lol. So no more fried foods, fruit, sodium, or takeout :0(
I am currently at home with my feet up watching television. School is almost complete and I cannot wait. I have another A and next class starts on Monday. Ugh! Cannot wait.

Since I haven't posted in forever....attached are some pics of 27 weeks and 28 weeks.

Funny Feeling....

Today mommy woke up and went to church and you came along for the ride. She has such an amazing time and realizes how truly blessed she is to have you in her life and where she is at in her life.
With the great worship and praise to the reason why she attended made her feel so good inside and you absolutely loved all the music because you kept kicking her the entire time.

After church, mommy went to eat Mexican for lunch and enjoyed it. She didn't even want to go home and stayed there and watched the Falcons v. Panthers game. Yes, the Falcons won.

The day couldn't have been better. Not only did mommy have such a great day but mommy felt you hiccup today. Such a wild feeling....she loved it. Mommy is so glad she can experience all these moments with you...the bond.

Mommy loves you baby girl.

Happy New Year 2011 and 24 weeks

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011

Today is the start of the New Year and I brought it in with Charley. Laying on the couch and waiting for the count down to begin but I ended up falling asleep on the couch with my apple juice in my wine glass and pretending to have a little fun. Not believing that I would actually bring in the New Year by myself but not really because you were in my tummy, so I wasnt alone afterall.  It was a little sad but I eventually got over it after I fell asleep because nothing would change the moment that I was in.

Not only is today New Year's Day but I am also 24 weeks. So exciting to know Charley will be here in 16 weeks. Time is flying so fast and I cannot wait to see you. I just organized all of your items and it's so exciting to see everything you have so far. You've been kicking a lot lately and I notice you love music.

I just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year 2011 baby girl and 24 weeks in developing into a beautiful little girl. I have an appointment on Tuesday and I cannot wait to hear your heartbeat.

I love you very much and cannot wait to spend the rest of my days with you!
